Hôtel Des Iles

Hôtel des Îles boasts a prime location at the entrance of Essaouira’s old city, overlooking the sea and the port, making it an excellent base for tranquil getaways.

Established in 1948 by Antoine Marchisio, the architect behind the iconic Mamounia in Marrakesh, the hotel beautifully blends Mauresque tradition with contemporary amenities. The original section of the hotel features 23 rooms spread across two floors. All accommodations were updated in 2002 and offer views of either the bay or the hotel’s private swimming pool, which is surrounded by lush greenery. Additionally, there are 40 motel-style bungalows, each equipped with a private sun deck facing the pool and an allocated parking spot.

Guests are encouraged to unwind in either of the two lounges or at the restaurant, which has a spacious modern dining area overlooking the ocean and can accommodate up to 300 diners for meals (and up to 500 for cocktail receptions). This dining area can also be reconfigured into a conference room suitable for various corporate events.

Couples especially appreciate the location — it received a rating of 9.1 for a trip designed for two.
