Manor House Hotel

A delightful English manor house situated near the A1 road. Complimentary WiFi is available in public areas, and meals are served throughout the day.

Constructed on foundations that trace back to the 12th Century, the hotel is believed to have been a hunting lodge for Henry VIII and the residence of the Eden family. It features secret passages and even a couple of friendly ghosts!

Nestled within its own landscaped gardens and equipped with versatile meeting spaces, it serves as a perfect base for discovering the many attractions of County Durham. Highlights include Durham Cathedral and Castle, the Durham Dales, Bishop Auckland, and Barnard Castle.

The Manor House Hotel is a dog-friendly establishment, warmly welcoming dogs in our bar, lounge, and brasserie areas. We have designated rooms that accommodate dogs, which are situated in our courtyard and consist of our double or twin options. There is an additional charge of £10 per night for each dog, which can be added at the time of booking to be settled upon check-in. We kindly ask that you inform the team as early as possible if you intend to bring your beloved dog with you.

Please be aware that access to our spa facilities (including the gym) is not included in your reservation. However, you are invited to enjoy the recently renovated amenities for a nominal fee of £20 per person, per day, per night. This fee covers spa access on the day of arrival, allowing you to utilize our sauna, steam room, pool, jacuzzi, and relaxation area, along with robe and towel rental.
