Nestled amidst the breathtaking landscapes of the woods, Ryu Resort and Spa is situated in the serene Shokawa Highland area, just a 50-minute drive or a complimentary shuttle ride from JR Takayama Station (reservation required). The renowned UNESCO World Heritage Site, Shirakawa-go, is only a 45-minute drive away.

This resort has undergone a thorough refurbishment and has received the Certificate of Excellence from TripAdvisor since 2015. Complimentary WiFi with speeds of up to 100 mbps is provided in all rooms and communal areas.

Guests have the opportunity to relax in the natural open-air hot spring bath with stunning views or partake in various outdoor activities. A selection of colored yukata robes is available to women at no charge.

Rooms feature tatami (woven-straw) flooring and Japanese futon bedding. The spacious living area is equipped with a flat-screen TV, a refrigerator, and an electric kettle. En suite bathrooms include amenities and slippers. All accommodations were renovated in 2015.

During the summer season, guests can enjoy a tennis court and an outdoor swimming pool. In the evenings, a terrace bar offers a delightful atmosphere for relaxation.

Breakfast presents a Japanese-set menu that highlights traditional local specialties, including hoba miso and tofu. The hotel’s traditional multi-course dinner showcases Hida beef teppanyaki alongside fresh fish sourced from Toyama Bay.

The property is conveniently located a 50-minute drive from both the Shirakawago Historic Village and the Takayama Historical Old Town. Guests can reach Dynaland and Takasu Snow Park within 35 and 30 minutes by car, respectively.
