Under Brazilian Federal Law 8.069/1990, individuals under 18 years cannot check into hotels without being accompanied by a parent or a designated adult. If a minor is with a guardian who is not their parent, a notarised written consent is required for the minor to check into the hotel. This letter must be signed by both parents and include notarised copies of their identification.

All guests under 18 must also provide a valid photo ID to verify their identity and that of their parents. This is necessary even if they are traveling with their parents.
