Constructed in 1912 and providing affordable, backpacker-style lodging within a delightful historic building, National Park Alpine Lodge offers complimentary WiFi in communal spaces along with both Netflix and satellite channels in the shared lounge area. Situated in National Park Village, it is 25 km away from Mount Ruapehu. Guests can take advantage of free private parking available on the premises.

The property features a shared kitchen for guests’ convenience. Additionally, there is a communal dining area and shared bathrooms for all visitors.

“Please note,” we also have an R18+ public bar on-site, which serves food and beverages. This includes live music and entertainment; our license allows us to operate until 2 am, although we often close much earlier, but this cannot be guaranteed!

Guests are welcome to enjoy a game of billiards at National Park Alpine Lodge or unwind by the cozy fireplace.

The Tongariro Alpine Crossing is just a 25-minute drive from the lodge.
