The Black Boy Inn

The Black Boy is a 16th-century inn nestled within the historic town walls of Caernarfon. It offers hearty Welsh gastro cuisine and authentic craft beers, all enjoyed in front of cozy log fires, with a convenient short stroll to the town center and the remarkable 13th-century castle.

Tracing its roots back to 1522, The Black Boy Inn stands as one of North Wales’ oldest inns.

In the process of modernizing the rooms to a high standard, the property has successfully preserved its unique character and charm by utilizing local, traditional building materials, along with handmade furniture and premium fittings. Some of the walls are impressively thick, measuring between 1.2 to 1.5 metres. The warm wood panelling, creaking floorboards, low ceilings, narrow staircases, and sturdy wooden beams contribute to an intimate and inviting ambiance.

Black Jack’s is a distinct area of the inn situated in a courtyard at the back. Out of the 10 spacious rooms available, eight are equipped with mini kitchens and cozy seating areas.

The Black Tower is a designated listed Edwardian structure positioned towards the back of the inn, housed in a separate building. It is only a few minutes’ walk from the iconic Caernarfon Castle.
